flow yoga

In Flow (or "Vinyasa") yoga, we link our movements to our breath. This style is designed to calm the mind and strengthen + stretch the body. Our classes are never heated, and are clearly labelled so you can choose exactly the level of challenge you want.

yin yoga

This style of yoga is fantastic for all levels of experience, and is focused on deep stretching + relaxation. All poses are seated or lying down, and are held for 5-8 minutes while supported by blocks, blankets, + bolsters.

Yin is a wonderful introduction to the slower, healing-focused side of yoga.

prenatal yoga

In our prenatal flow class, we link one breath to one movement in a vinyasa-style flow, holding poses 1-3 breaths at a time. We work to continue building and maintaining strength while also finding grace and acceptance for our bodies as they change and shift.

 

This class is safe for every trimester.

baby + me yoga

In this class you'll move with your breath while interacting with baby, with the understanding that you may need to pause your practice in order to attend to your little one. Spontaneous naps and crying are allowed and encouraged (for you AND for baby ;-)

Highly recommend Oak + Lotus Yoga studio! They've got a wonderful and affordable monthly plan that gives you the most "bang for your buck." The space is thoughtfully laid out. There are mats, blankets, blocks, etc for your use, along with eye masks that can be used during the winddown at the end. The staff are extremely helpful and kind and the teachers are all wonderful. Classes are laid out as "mild, medium, and spicy" which is a clever way to denote the difficulty level. Overall, highly recommend this space and it's a wonderful hidden gem of a studio.

I appreciate the community atmosphere at this studio. People introduce themselves and show interest in each other. The teachers pay attention to each person's needs according to their body. It's very peaceful and welcoming. If you are a first-time yogi this would be a very non-judgemental and safe space for you to practice. I love how they give students a way to specify whether they do or don't want to be touched by the teacher during a class.

It has been tricky to find a yoga studio that I've enjoyed in the South Austin area, so I am so glad that I found Oak + Lotus! All of the instructors and employees are kind, thoughtful, and genuine. You can tell that they care about your well-being more than anything, and they won't pressure you to commit to a specific membership or anything you may be unready for. They are also all very accepting of all types of people, which can be hard to find in a yoga studio. The online option is also really great for those days when driving to class maybe be inconvenient or hard to fit in your schedule. In addition, they host some cool events if you ever want to spice up your yoga routine!

I'm Alia, owner of Oak + Lotus Yoga. I'm a recovering attorney turned entrepreneur, and after a long and winding journey, found my calling as a yoga teacher and studio owner.

Building community is at the heart of my mission as both a yoga teacher and studio owner, and I'm thrilled you've decided to check out our little corner of the yoga world!
