Your body is undergoing incredible changes during pregnancy, and understanding how to support it can make a big difference for birth and recovery. In this workshop, pelvic floor physical therapist, Jessica Chastka PT, DPT, WCS will guide you through:

What the pelvic floor and core actually are and their role in labor and birth (not just pregnancy and postpartum!)

Why pelvic floor relaxation is important for labor and how you can practice relaxation on your own at home

What you can do prior to and during birth to reduce the likelihood and severity of perineal tearing

What you can do prior to and during birth to improve the efficacy of your pushing

Labor positions that you can use with or without an epidural

Safe exercise guidelines during pregnancy
You’ll leave with practical tools, strategies, and a deeper understanding of your body—so you can feel confident heading into birth and supported as you recover afterward.

Meet Jessica!

Jessica (she/her) is a pelvic floor physical therapist in Austin, TX with a decade of experience helping people navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Board Certified in Women’s Health, she has treated a wide range of pelvic health conditions and taught continuing education for other PTs across the country.
She is passionate about supporting pregnant and postpartum people with evidence-based, practical strategies—busting myths, simplifying the overwhelm of online advice, and empowering families to feel confident in their bodies. As both a clinician and a parent, Jessica brings expertise and real-life perspective to her teaching, meeting people where they are and helping them prepare for birth and beyond.
