
Pelvic Floor + Core
for Birth + Beyond
In this workshop designed for both pregnant and postpartum bodies, you'll learn the basic anatomy of the bony pelvis, pelvic floor muscles, and core. We'll explore how movement and breathwork relates to the pelvis, and how all of this can help your body and mind during pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum.
Increasing pelvis/core awareness can help reduce stress, increase energy, decrease pregnancy aches and pains, improve physical preparedness for labor, and improve postnatal healing.
This workshop will be primarily a discussion, with support from anatomy models and slides. While not a yoga class, we will incorporate some gentle movement in this workshop to enhance our understanding of the concepts presented.

Meet Michaela!

Michaela began practicing yoga in 2008, valuing the time connecting with her breath and body. She felt called to teach yoga when she became pregnant in 2018 and took her first prenatal yoga class, becoming fascinated with pregnancy and postpartum anatomy and wellness.
She became certified to teach prenatal/postnatal yoga in 2020, became a Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist in 2022, and completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2023.
Michaela enjoys live music, the outdoors, and learning all about dinosaurs with her young kids. She is also a pediatric occupational therapist. She became a member of Oak + Lotus in 2022 and is now an integral part of our offerings for yoga mamas!
